I have always been drawn to ancient history, archaeology and, of course, beads - they are a universal delight. Practically very culture has them.  Used by the Ancient Romans and Greeks in their abacuses for counting, as a form of money by traders in the Middle Ages, and by priests and monks to keep track of repeated prayers.
