Find a subject that interests you. Look at it for entire minute. Write down or draw a picture of things that come to mind. That will help you verify what is dominant about the subject, so you won’t become lost in details.
You can find inspiration in everywhere: in bark of tree, flowers, sand, peace of pottery, animals…

I saw a beautiful hand painted vase with drawing of flowering cherry tree. This image was the inspiration for my necklace.Arthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03867802503349856985noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8143007135042604149.post-1489557454816012552009-11-18T04:46:00.000-08:002009-11-18T04:46:43.556-08:00Painting Portraiture : Capturing the Likeness of a Person

I paint portraiture on a white, untoned canvas, simply because I like to see fresh, true colors of paint. My goal is to capture the character of my subject in the simplest, most direct fashion possible. I paint what I see, but at the same time injecting my personality.
I’m particularly interested in capturing the essence and the likeness of a person from the way they hold themselves in space.

My Inspiration:

My source of inspiration comes from events which I experience, or perhaps a place I have been to, or sometimes someone I meet.
I always have a book with me to scribble down notes and do quick sketches when I travel. Back in the studio I work with the color (acrylic, watercolor), then I decide witch design I going to do.

I have always been drawn to ancient history, archaeology and, of course, beads - they are a universal delight. Practically very culture has them. Used by the Ancient Romans and Greeks in their abacuses for counting, as a form of money by traders in the Middle Ages, and by priests and monks to keep track of repeated prayers.
